I probably will be able to continue doing some updates to the previous post's batch of referendum-related links. However, other than that, I likely won't be able to do any significant updating for at least a little while--especially when it comes to posting batches of feed-related links. (The one referendum-related link that I want to reiterate here--because I think I buried it way too deeply and quickly--is Global Voices' special section on the vote.)
In addition to posting various links here, I have been digging up sites for several other purposes--which I should be able to continue doing. Here are what I consider to be the most important:
- suggesting possible member charities to Aid for Africa;
- submitting blogs and similar sites to The Road to the Horizon's aggregators;
- submitting various sites--including for, most importantly, potential publishers--to allAfrica;
- and suggesting content to Google News.
I'm mentioning all of these here in order to encourage others who may be familiar with such organizations and sites to go ahead and submit them directly.
Also, in addition to the batch of referendum-related links, there's still the batch of RSS feeds of news from Africa--as well as the similar batches of Sudan-, DR Congo-, Somalia-, and Zimbabwe-related feeds. (Updated [originally] on Sunday, 20 March, to note that I've finally been able to make some new additions to the aforementioned batch of referendum-related links; unfortunately, I haven't had a lot of time over the past few weeks to do so. Updated [further] on Sunday, 8 May, to note that I've finally been able to make some more additions to the batch of referendum-related links; separately, I've been able to dig up sites recently for many organizations via "Activist Faith", Empowered.org, and [especially] UniversalGiving--none of which I think I've specifically plugged before. Updated [again] on Sunday, 15 May, to note that I've been able to make another [small] set of additions to the batch of referendum-related links; in addition, I wanted to plug both the Christian Science Monitor's new "Change Agent" blog and the related Dowser [which I don't think I've specifically mentioned before]. Updated [still further] on Sunday, 19 June, to note that I've been able to make some more additions to the batch of referendum-related links--and to plug this recent Mashable post concerning the "Top 12 Online Fundraising Platforms for [U.S.] Donors & Non-Profits". Updated [yet again], on Monday, 4 July, to note that I've been able to make even more additions to the batch of referendum-related links; even though official independence is almost here, I may still make even more updates, as conditions warrant.) - EJM
