I still haven't been able to resolve the issues with the widgets that had been on the page of RSS feeds of news from Africa. However, I may have made some progress in identifying the actual problem; it may be that recently modified widgets aren't loaded/displayed correctly in some (but not necessarily all) browsers. (For diagnostic purposes, I do currently have a widget of basic feeds from ReliefWeb on that page; however, it shouldn't be something that will be left there permanently.) The widgets on the pages of Sudan-, DR Congo-, Somalia-, and Zimbabwe-related feeds (which haven't been modified recently) still appear to be functioning correctly; however, it is possible that they also may have some problems, when viewed in some browsers.
Also, since the last update, I've come across feeds for: Mohamed Suleiman's "While We Wait" blog, the "Sudanese Guardian" blog, the (Darfur-related) blog of Kids for Kids, "Capital Eritrea", Eritrea's "Asmarino Independent", the Ethiopian Current Affairs Discussion Forum's blog, "EthioSun", the Doses of Hope Foundation, the blog for Caleb's Hope, Womankind Kenya, the trilingual site (Arabic/English/French) for Algeria's "Echorouk", the Association of Female Lawyers of Liberia, Ghana's "NuWorldAfrica", the Stakeholder Democracy Network, "Remember Saro Wiwa", the related "Shell Guilty", the blog for The Sole of Africa, the Freeplay Foundation's blog, the bilingual (English/French) African Economic Outlook site, Africa Business Information Services, ReConnect Africa, Africa Harvest Biotech Foundation International's blog, Environment Africa, the African Centre for Biosafety, South Africa's Federation for a Sustainable Environment, the Zimbabwe-related blog "Paradzai Zimondi's Death Prisons", and the Somali Association of South Africa. In addition, the recently revamped/relaunched site for Mercy Corps (which now includes a related blog) and the companion "Global Envision" site both feature country-specific feeds. - EJM
