I still haven't been able to overcome the technical problems with the "RSS Feeds of News from Africa" page; therefore, it remains only a placeholder, for the time being. Again, though, this does not affect the pages of widget-based RSS feeds for Sudan, DR Congo, Somalia, and Zimbabwe--which remain functional.
Separately, since the last update, I've come across feeds for Kimberly Smith's Sudan-related blog (affiliated with Make Way Partners), Darfur's Radio Dabanga, Bec Hamilton's blog, the Sudan- and (especially) Sri Lanka-related blog "Stop Genocides", David Shinn's blog, the "Somaliland Globe", EthioPlanet, Gaada.com, the bilingual (Somali/English) "OromiaTimes", Mars Group Kenya's blog, Village Volunteers' blog, the Kenya Hospice and Palliative Care Association, the DR Congo-related blog "Stop Conflict", "Newstime Africa", the related "Sierra Leone News", the "Botswana Gazette", the "Zambia Watchdog", "Zimbabwe News Watch", Jonathan Moyo's Zimbabwe-related blog, Gilbert Muponda's Zimbabwe-related blog, the "SA Elections" portal site, the Institute for Democracy in South Africa, Action for a Safe South Africa, South Africa's "West Cape News", "Media Club South Africa", CHOSA's blog, "Stop the Stock-Outs", the Ecumenical Pharmaceutical Network, Project Diaspora, TWN-Africa, WhereCampAfrica, "Africa Matata", Climate Change Adaptation in Africa, Africa24 Media's blog, Emeka Okafor's blog, and the pan-African blog site Maneno. In addition, I've come across region- or country-specific feeds for Save the Children UK's blog, Medical Teams International, Direct Relief International, CARE (U.S.)'s "Notes from the Field" blog, Operation Blessing International's "With My Own Eyes" blog, and "ICC Observers".
Updated originally, on Sunday, to also note the region-specific feeds for the main SOS Children's Villages site; updated further, also on Sunday, to note the feed for the official blog of VOA's "Upfront"; updated still further, also on Sunday, to note the feed for Maker Faire Africa; updated yet again, also on Sunday, to note the region/country-specific feeds for the OpenNet Initiative; updated even further, also on Sunday, both to note feeds relating to the Kenya-related film "A Chance for Peace" and to note region/country-specific feeds for Kiva's "Stories from the Field" blog; updated (hopefully) one last time, on Monday, to note the feed for the just-launched "Darfur Fast for Life".
Finally, I'm still largely limiting myself to (when appropriate) providing updates, via comments, to Change.org's "Stop Genocide" and "Humanitarian Relief" blogs. Beyond that, Ingrid is still posting regularly and Enough's blog continues to follow everything (including, to some extent, the conflict in Sri Lanka). - EJM
