From a new Save Darfur e-mail...
This Wednesday morning, April 18th, President George W. Bush will deliver a speech at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum titled "Genocide, the Holocaust, and Ending the Crisis in Darfur."
Darfur activists will rally outside the President's speech, to tell him that we need real action to stop the genocide. We'll gather at 7:30 a.m. outside the Smithsonian Metro (Mall exit) and walk to the Holocaust [museum] together for the rally.
Please visit our sign up page to RSVP.
What: Rally outside President Bush's Darfur [speech]
When: Wednesday, April 18th, 7:30 a.m.
Where: Meet outside Smithsonian Metro (Mall exit) at 7:30 a.m. We'll walk to the Holocaust [museum] from there. If you arrive late, meet us outside the Holocaust [museum] (100 Raul Wallenberg Way SW - formerly 15th Street, just south of Independence Avenue).
During his first months in office, President Bush is said to have written "not on my watch" on a report about the Rwandan genocide. Now that the Darfur crisis has entered its fifth year, it is clear that rhetoric alone is not enough.
Come show your support this Wednesday morning!
Please RSVP right now!
We'll bring signs for people to hold, and materials for people to distribute to the crowds.
We look forward to seeing you at this important event.
